2015 Revisited: Silicon Valley Donated Billions For Humanity

The year 2015 will be remembered for both good and the bad events. We all will remember the Paris attacks and the Chennai floods. However, on the brighter side, there are those who care for humanity and in order to tackle such future events, the tech honchos of Silicon Valley are donated more than ever before.

They pledged their money and influence to solve the above stated problems in addition to the static problems like poverty, malnutrition etc. In a way, these billionaires are pushing for the safety of the discriminate, they are helping to ensure access to basic resources like food, water to all.

The names associated with these tasks of philanthropy include the heads of big tech giants like Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook Inc.), Tim Cook (Apple), Reid Hoffman (LinkedIn), Bill Gates (Microsoft) and many others.

Zuckerberg, along with his wife pledged to donated 99% of his Facebook shares to a new foundation named after him and his wife Priscilla Chan. This announcement was made by Zuckerberg on the birth of his daughter on Giving Tuesday.

Not only are they pledging money for the betterment of the people, but they are also helping in ensuring the rights of the discriminated people. Many big names like Bill Gates, Warren Buffet etc. have been long associated with this, but now a lot of names are coming out to help in as well.

The efforts of these people are being acknowledged globally and people are rewarding them for their big efforts as well.
