Design and Display
The ASUS X507U laptop comes with a 15.6 inch Full HD display. I had to mention the screen resolution in the very first line since at the price point this laptop is available, one does not get that kind of screen. The colours are good and so are the viewing angles. The screen is fairly large for the people who like working on big screen laptops.

asus x507u designAs far as the design is concerned, Asus has provided a patterned design which on first look seems like metal. But on close inspection, you will find that it is plastic. Saying that, the whole feel and look of the laptop is very premium. You will love to carry the laptop around and do some show off!

It is very easy to carry this device anywhere you want as the weight is only 1.6 Kg. It feels quite light in weight. The laptop comes with 2 USB 2.0 ports and a USB 3.0 port. There is a HDMI port and a SD card port as well.

Performance
The Asus X507U comes with Intel i3 6th generation (6006U) processor. The latest generation which is currently present in the market from Intel is 8th. The model that I got had 8 GB of RAM and 1 TB of hard disk space.

asus x507u displayWhen it comes to the day to day usage, the laptop performs well. Even with the 6th generation processor, there is no slowing down or hiccups. Multi tasking is smooth and the overall experience is good. Do keep one thing in mind that this laptop is not meant for gamers as there is no external graphic card. The laptop comes with Intel’s standard graphic card. So you can do some light gaming with ease.

Battery Life and Speaker
The laptop comes with a 3 cell battery. It lasts for around 3 hours on medium usage. This is an average battery backup and you would need to charge often if you are a power user.

The speaker on the Asus X507U really impressed me. The Sonicmaster speaker provides good quality sound output with solid bass. This is not something that you can find in a budget laptop and I would like to give a thumbs up to Asus for doing such a commendable job.

Verdict
At a price point of around Rs 31,000, the Asus X507U is a good laptop in the budget segment. People who are looking to buy a laptop for themselves or maybe their school/college going kids, this actually makes sense. It won’t burn a hole in your pocket and still give you good performance. Moreover, the laptop comes pre-installed with original Windows 10 operating system. Most of the laptops in the budget range come with DOS operating system and you need to install the Windows on your own by purchasing it separately. Now that is not really an easy task if you are not an expert at operating computer and know the software part. The design is great, the speakers are solid and the display rocks. The battery is average though.
