Value For Money
The ASUS Zenfone Max is currently one of the best device under Rs 10,000. It has a solid display, good design and a battery which refuses to die. The only downside is that it is a slightly heavy phone
Design And Display
The ASUS Zenfone Max comes with a patterned back-plate and a golden metallic bezel. The got a premium design and is extremely robust. The latest Corning Gorilla Glass protection makes the display strong and it is one device you can flaunt.
The bottom buttons are non backlit but are silver in colour. Hence, they are easy to spot under low lights. The side bezel is golden.
We have a 5.5 inch HD display on this phone. In spite of not being a full HD display, the colours are good and it is a wonderful experience to watch movies and play high definition games.
The phone has 2 GB of RAM and a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor. Below are the results of couple of benchmarks.
For regular users: The Asus Zenfone Max is a great for sending emails, texting, Whatsapp, social media and all your other needs. You can open multiple tabs in the browser and the phone will happily oblige you.
For Gamers: The presence of the Snapdragon 410 chipset ensures that you can play games for long duration without any heating up of the phone. I was able to play heavy games like the Walking War Robots, Modern Combat 5 and Asphalt 8 Airborne on the Zenfone Zoom without any major lags. The phone is a decent phone when it comes to gaming.
The following images have been clicked using the rear 13 Mp camera of the phone. I found the camera to be better than that of the Zenfone 2 Laser and pretty close in quality to the likes of the Xiaomi Mi4i and other good camera phones. The presence of the laser autofocus means that the users can capture the important moments in life instantly.
The front 5 Mp camera is able to click good selfies and when the image is transferred to the laptop or a desktop, the result is good.
This is the USP of the phone. The ASUS Zenfone Max is a power house when it comes to the battery department. The name has Max because of the huge 5000 mAh battery which the phone has under the hood. The end result is that with a moderate usage, the phone easily lasts 3 days. Yes, you read that right, the phone lasts 3 days! On top of it, the default power saver app works like a charm. You can choose from normal mode, performance mode, power saver mode or the automatic mode. While the power saver mode turns off the data when the phone’s display is off, the automatic mode automatically toggles between the various modes according to the usage.
Another cool thing which you can do using the ASUS Zenfone Max is that you can charge any other device using this phone. Thus, it acts like a power bank too and the good part is that the reverse charging cable is provided inside the box itself. You need not purchase it separately.
The ASUS Zenfone Max is currently one of the best device under Rs 10,000. It has a solid display, good design and a battery which refuses to die. The only downside is that it is a slightly heavy phone. This is due to the huge battery which the phone houses. so all in all, everything is good about this phone, you need to adjust to a slightly heavy device in your hand.
