Design And Display
When I first picked up the Coolpad Max smartphone, I was completely awed by its looks. The phone got a complete metal design which is unique.

coolpad max power buttonOn the right side, slot for inserting the SIM card and the micro SD card is present. Power on/off button is also there.

coolpad max volume rockerOn the left side, volume rocker buttons are present.

coolpad max 3.5 mm jackThe top features a 3.5 mm jack.

The phone sports a 5.5 inch display. It is made up of 2.5D Gorilla Glass with 4th generation of protection. Since the display is full HD, it is a treat to play games and watch movies on the Coolpad Max. The on screen colours are neither too warm, nor bluish/soft. They are optimum.

The device is powered up by an octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor clocking at 1.5 Ghz. This is accompanied by 4 GB of RAM. I ran Antutu benchmark in order to assess the performance of the phone. It gave me a score of 44815.

coolpad max antutu benchmarkFor regular users: Throw any app at the Coolpad Max and the phone will run it willingly. You can open several tabs in the browser without slowing down the phone. Gmail, Whatsapp, office mail and other things, all can run simultaneously. This is enabled via the 4 GB of RAM. Moreover, the 64 GB storage space ensures that you can install as many apps as you want. Further, SD card and USB OTG is also supported, so you have a lot many options to increase the storage space.

For gamers: I ran heavy online games like Walking War Robots and Dead Trigger 2 on Coolpad Max. If you read my reviews, you might be knowing that these are some of the standard heavy games that I run. The performance was super smooth with top notch graphic quality. Usually, a phone adjusts the graphic quality of a game according to the amount of load the processor can take. In Coolpad Max, even with the display being Full HD, the processor and the GPU were able to render proper graphics and there were no lags or frame drops during the game play.

I played games for half an hour non stop on this phone and there was mild heating. That means that users can perform heavy duty tasks on the phone without the processor slowing down. This can be termed as a solid performance by this phone.

The dual in technology allows you to store apps and data under two separate partitions. The private partition can be accessed by only you via a key. This ensures the user privacy. If you need to send some files on say Whatsapp and currently you are in the normal mode, there is a dedicated app for the share to happen easily.

There is a 13 MP rear camera at the back of this phone with a dual tone flash and a 5 MP front facing camera. Without writing much, I want you to check the image quality yourself.

These are the raw images clicked with the Coolpad Max. I suggest you to click on the images and enlarge them for a proper inspection. Both the cameras are best in class.

Battery Life
A 2800 mAh battery with solid hardware is always a kind of worry. Add to that the Full HD display this phone has. To my surprise, with a charge of 100 per cent art 9 am in the morning, the phone manged to live till 6 in the evening. The usage done was moderate to heavy. The battery has fast charge feature and it gets charged from 0 to 100 per cent in around 45 minutes only. The fast charging capability of the Coolpad Max gets a thumbs up from my side.

Coolpad launched there flagship product, Coolpad Max at a price point of Rs 24,999. Many reviewers termed this phone as an overpriced one. Let me tell you, most of them came out with the verdict with one day of use. I have been using this phone for more than 20 days now and let me tell you guys, it is worth every Rupee spent. The build quality, privacy feature and the fast charging make this phone a real flagship. To add icing to the cake, Coolpad has tied up with HCL, India’s biggest service provider, for its after sales service. HCL provides after sale service to every major company including Samsung.
