Design And Display

In terms of looks, the Coolpad Note 3 Lite resembles the Coolpad Note 3 phone. The only change is that the side bezel is golden in colour as compared to the latter’s silver coloured bezel. The phone got a compact form factor and does not feel like you are holding a cheap piece of plastic.

coolpad note 3 lite non backlit buttonsThe bottom buttons are non backlit but are highly responsive. The camera lens border and the fingerprint sensor are also golden coloured. This provides the phone a uniformity and a certain elegance.

coolpad note 3 lite sim card trayThe backplate of the Coolpad Note 3 lite is a plastic one and is removable. I can pop in 2 SIM cards and a micro SD card all at the same time. The battery if non removable.

If we talk about the SAR value, then the SAR head value of the Coolpad Note 3 Lite is 0.249 and the body is 0.425. Both of these values are well under the safe limit of 1.6 watts per kilogram.

A 5 inch HD display is what we have on this phone. I am quite happy with the touch and the on screen colours. A screen guard is provided inside the box so you need not worry about any scratches. However, I recommend you to go for a tempered glass or a trink glass for the best screen protection.

I am impressed by the performance of the Coolpad Note 3 Lite. It possesses a quad core 1.3 Ghz MediaTek processor and 3 GB of RAM.

coolpad note 3 lite benchmarksFor Regular Users: Multi-tasking is a piece of cake on this phone. You can send emails, use Whatsapp and listen to songs, watch videos and the phone will not disappoint you.

For Gamers: I played heavy games like Walking War Robots and Dead Trigger on the Coolpad Note 3 Lite. I have shown the real game-play on the YouTube channel. I enjoyed all this gaming on the phone and there were no lags. The best part is that the chipset does not heats up like many other phones.

coolpad note 3 lite fingerprint scannerThe fingerprint sensor is of top notch quality and works flawlessly. It can be easily configured and works well. It does not matters whether you swipe the finger horizontally, vertically or diagonally.

A 13 Mp rear camera and a 5 Mp front facing camera is what this phone has to offer. The rear camera is accompanied by a single tone flash and has a f 2.2 aperture which results in sharp images. Do check the images below.

The images appear good and the details are awesome. I also like the front facing camera of the phone which is great because we usually see companies doing cost cutting in the front facing camera department when it comes to budget smartphone.

Battery Life

A 2500 mAh battery might raise a bit of a concern on papers. However, in practical life, the battery performance of the COolpad Note 3 Lite is above average and the phone lasts one complete day with light to moderate usage. Even if you use it heavily, you will not require a charging point anytime before the evening. You are good to go from 8 am to 7 pm with a full charge and heavy usage.

Earlier I was a bit concerned that Coolpad might go for less specs because it is a Lite version of the highly successful Note 3. To my surprise, they did not opt for such a thing. The Coolpad Note 3 Lite has all the ingredients which makes a phone rock among the consumers. I personally like 5 inch devices and it is on of them. It has a really good camera which promises to capture all your good memories in the best possible way. There is no phone in the market which offers a flawless fingerprint sensor at such a modest price. Coolpad Note 3 Lite is a must for all those people who are looking for a budget phone but do not want to compromise on the specifications and user experience.
