Design And Display

The Note 3 got a fairly different design than several other budget smartphones. The corners are properly rounded and the the bezels are black in colour which provide a premium look to the screen.

coolpad note 3 fingerprintThere is a plastic fingerprint scanner at the back on top of which sits a 13 Mp camera with single tone flash. The phone features a 5.5 inch HD display. The touch is smooth and when you tilt the phone, the colours don’t go light or dark which essentially means that the phone has good viewing angles.

Performance

coolpad note 3 homeThe phone is powered by a MediaTek Octa-core processor and got 3 GB of RAM. This is the first phone which offers 3 GB RAM at a price less than Rs 10,000. The best part perhaps is the fingerprint scanner. It is a plastic scanner and I was not too confident about its functionality prior to the time I used the phone. The fact is that the scanner works flawlessly and one can program 3 commands via 3 fingers.

For Gamers: I did some heavy gaming on the device for 15 days and I am impressed by the phone. There were no lag or jitters and the Coolpad Note can be safely termed as a solid gaming phone.

Be it gaming or long duration video watching, the phone does not heat up.

Camera

The Note 3 features a 13 Mp rear camera and a 5 Mp front facing camera. Although we have great quality 13 Mp camera phones in the market but this phone also performs well. The focus gets locked on pretty fast and there is no shutter lag. The images come out vibrant and crisp. The phone has a single tone flash. You can see the samples below.

The 5 Mp front camera is sweet and great for clicking selfies. The is a beauty mode and the selfies come out really well.

Battery Life

A 2500 mAh battery powers up the Coolpad Note 3. The battery uptime is average and could have been better. Heavy tasks like gaming, videos and GPS put a strain on the battery and it drains out quite fast. Saying that, the charging time is short.

Verdict

With its Note 3, Coolpad is bound to taste success. The phone has some super features in fingerprint sensor and 3 GB of RAM. The user interface is stable and the looks are stunning. Highly recommended from my side.
