Design and Display
When it comes to design, both the phones come in full metal and classy aesthetics. They are sleek and light weight. The Coolpad Note 5 Lite is a 5 inch HD phone with 294 pixels per inch on screen. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy On7 Pro is a 5.5 inch HD phone with a slightly less amount of pixels, 267, on screen. Both the displays are decent enough and the colours are crisp.
Sadly, Samsung decided to put in a old generation chipset in its On7 Pro. The phone has a Qualcomm Snadragon 410 chipset which is in a way outdated processor. The Coolpad Note 5 Lite offers a new architecture processor by MediaTek and also has 3 GB of RAM. In contrast, the On7 Pro has just 2 GB of RAM. When it comes to day to day usage, the Note 5 Lite scores over Samsung. It is easier to jump from one app to another and perform multitasking in the form of opening multiple tabs in the browser and running multiple apps in the background.
There is a close fight in the camera department. Both the smartphones have a 13 MP rear camera. The images come out well with zero shutter lag. There is some noise visible under low light conditions. The differentiating factor lies in the front facing camera. The Note 5 Lite has a 8 MP front facing camera with f/2.2 aperture and the On7 Pro has a 5 MP camera with the same aperture size. In my tests, the Coolpad performed much better under all kind of light conditions. Thus, from the camera point of view, you should opt for Note 5 Lite smartphone.
A one day battery life in real life use condition is what both of these phones will provide you at the best. There is no rapid charging or instant charging feature available. Saying that, currently none of the sub Rs 10,000 smartphone offer it in the Indian market.
This was a really close competition. There are many specifications which are a bit similar in these two smartphones. However, if you want a better camera and a compact phone which can be operated upon using a single hand for a longer duration, then opt for the Coolpad Note 5 Lite. On the other hand, if you are extremely brand conscious and can compromise on some hardware features, then the On7 Pro should be your choice.
