Honor 7 Launched, Single Sim & Fingerprint Scanner

Honor brought forth the flagship Honor 7 smartphone in India at an event recently held in Delhi. The Honor 7 adorns a full metallic body is air-brushed with a ceramic coating, giving a premium finish. The device has a 5.2-inch screen. The buttons are well positioned which allows for a comfortable single-handed operation. The phone is equipped with an intuitive fingerprint scanner which brags of smarter fingerprint technology. The Honor 7 is priced at INR 22999/-.

Honor Band Z1 was also launched at the event and will be priced at INR 5,499/-. Honor Band Z1 adorns a circular design with brushed metal bezel around the corners and a centred display. The band is accredited with IP68 and is dust proof and water resistant. The band comes loaded with features like: call reminding, SMS notification, calorie consumption tracker, calendar function and has a three day battery life.


Honor 7 is powered by HiSilicon octa-core Kirin 935 processor with its A53 and a 3GB RAM and 16GB ROM offering consistently seamless performance. Its L-shaped circuit board eliminates the possibility of overheating.

Stocked with a 3,100mAh battery, it offers an exceptional standby and use reverse-charging capabilities.


The Honor 7’s features a 20 MP rear-facing camera, powered by a Sony IMX 230 sensor and Honor’s PDAF fast-focusing technology that allows it to capture crystal clear low-light-condition images in as quick as 0.1 seconds. The 8MP front camera offers a built-in LED flash. Honor 7’s image embellishing capabilities and panorama feature; make the front camera a perfect selfie device.

Design and functionality

honor 7 fingerprint scannerThe Honor 7 offers the users extra-ordinary smart capabilities aided in part by its smart key. ‘Smart key’ is an additional button positioned on the left-side of the device and can be used for smart Google searches on the go. The fingerprint reader which is well placed on the back of the device can also function as a camera trigger, allowing the users to take selfies without having to change the focus or direction of the Honor 7.

The Honor features more voice capabilities, such as the ability to be woken up with a designated command, like “Dear Honor”. Give a voice command “where are you” and the device calls to the user to indicate its location. The Honor 7 also makes taking screenshots easier and interesting with its knuckle-tap feature. Through this feature users only need to tap on the screen twice with their knuckles for an instant screenshot.

Availability and Accessories

Priced at Rs. 22,999/- , the Honor 7 will be available in two sophisticated colors, Mystery Gray and Fantasy Silver. The Honor 7 will be exclusively sold on Flipkart.com and will be available from 15th October, 2015.
