The Desire 526G+ handset got a 4.7 inch qHD display while the Moto G 2nd Gen smartphone got a 5 inhc HD display. On paper, a qHD display has to be better than a HD one but Moto G2 clearly has a better screen. This is due to its 294 pixels per inch as compared to the HTC’s 234 pixels per inch. In terms of design and build quality too, Moto G2 is ahead of the Desire 526G+

With its 8 cores and 1 GB RAM, Desire 526G+ outperforms the Moto G 2 in performance. Synthetic benchmarks say so and also the speed and power is visible in normal usage. Saying that, Moto G 2 will not disappoint people who are looking at a moderate usage with not a big emphasis on heavy games.

Moto G got a 8 MP rear camera and a 1 MP front facing camera. We got an exactly similar camera on the Desire 526G+. The final results are similar too with fine performance from the rear cameras. However, the front facing camera of the Moto G 2 is better than that of the Desire phone.

The battery size on both the handsets is similar. However, the uptime in the case of the Deisre 526G+ is one hour extra, thanks to its smaller display and efficiaent use of the battery. We are looking at average battery time here with the Desire 526G+ performing slightly better.

It was a close compeition. But the older Moto G managed to defeat the Desire 526G+. Go for the HTC phone if solid gaming and heavy duty performance from a budget phone is you sole criteria. Otherwise opt for the Moto G2.
