Huawei has just unveiled the shiny new Honor 7 with top of the line specs and a not so top of the line price tag. In accordance to rumors the Huawei Honor 7 comes cased in an metal alloy which gives it a great look and feel and also comes in three different variants. The Variants are listed below:
1. 16 GB On-board Storage and Single SIM 4G.
2. 16GB On-board Storage and Dual SIM 4G.
3. 64GB On-Board Storage and 4G.
All other specifications are the same across all variants. All of the variant come with expandable storage also (up to 128GB).
As usual Huawei has opted for its in house octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 935 which has 8 A53 cores of which 4 cores clocked at 2.2 GHz and the other 4 at 1.5 GHz. The whole set-up of the Huawei Honor 7 is backed up by 3 GB of RAM and the Mali T628 GPU. The CPU is a great performer but the GPU is a letdown and isn’t at the level of the 2015 flagships, but it can still run games well.
The phone packs a 5.2 inch Full HD panel with a resolution of 1920-by-1080p and a pixel density of 423ppi. Huawei has made it clear that it will not sacrifice battery life for the sake of Quad-HD, which is fine with us but some display buffs may disagree. Considering the price we say this display is just fine.
Speaking of the battery, the Huawei Honor 7 packs a big 3100 mAh battery with Huawei’s smart charge technology which promises 50 percent battery in 30 minutes and 100 percent battery in 1 hour and 25 minutes making this yet another good feature to have considering the large cell size.
The camera has been bumped up on the front there is now an 8MP shooter with an f/2.4 aperture and on the back there is a 20MP Sony IMX230 sensor with an f/2.0 and a 6 piece lens. On the back there is also a Phase detecting Auto Focus which allows the camera to focus in 0.1s.
The Huawei Honor 7 also comes with a touch-based fingerprint scanner on the back under the camera, which offers a one tap unlock feature and even allows you to lock certain apps.
The phone comes with WiFi a/b/g/n/ac (2.4&5Ghz) for superfast WiFi speeds, NFC and Bluetooth 4.1. On the cellular side, the Huawei Honor 7 supports 2G, 3G and LTE, but it is not known whether it will support LTE in India but it most probably will.
