German premium car maker, Audi, has introduced a variant of its highly successful Audi A4. This New Audi A4 packs in more power and comes with 177 BHP(Brake Horse Power) standing at at 4200 RPM and 380 Nm of torque. The existing version of already A4 produces 141 BHP and 320 Nm engine power. The Multi-electronic Transmission feature remains same in both the new and existing versions. One new exciting addition is Drive Select. According to Audi, The drive select feature allows the driver to influence engine, transmission and steering while enabling the characteristics of the New Audi A4 to be adapted in line with the driver’s personal preferences and current route. Now that’s really cool!
Audi further added that the powerful 177 bhp New Audi A4 with the Audi drive select offers 27 per cent more power and offers 3 per cent more fuel efficiency than its predecessor. The added features will appeal to both our discerning customers as well as the enthusiast. The New Audi A4 is the only car in its segment which uses a front-wheel drive layout (Quattro variants are also available). Competitors like the BMW 3-Series and Mercedes C-Class are rear-wheel driven.
The current Audi models range in India includes Audi A4, A6, A7 Sportback, A8L, Q3, Q3 S edition, Q5, Q7, S4 S6, RS 5 Coupe, TT Coupe, the super sports car R8, R8 Spyder and the R8 V10. Audi India is planning to expand its network to 35 dealerships by the end of 2013 from its existing 27 centers. This is an aggressive marketing strategy from this German luxury car maker.
As they say, good things never come cheap. The New Audi A4 with Auto Drive Select feature is priced at 31.74 lacs(Ex showroom price). To expand its reach, the company is offering a step up scheme where a customer can pay an EMI at Rs 29,000 per month pm for the first two years. After these two years end, you would have to shell out Rs 49,000 per month for another period of two years. This goes on the same way with two years blocks and increased installments. Both the existing and the New Audi A4 are available in the market. Audi India has no plans to discontinue the older variant.
Going by the specifications and features like Drive Select and more Engine Horse Power, the car does seems to pack a punch. The New Audi A4 can reach 0-100 Km/h in only 7.9 seconds. Audi wants you to think fast indeed!
