Meizu has finally put to rest all the rumors swirling around its 2015 flagship the MX5. For the first time Meizu has gone all metal for a device finally giving it that premium feel which was missing from its previous flagships. Though the design of the Meizu MX5 resembles that of the iPhone 6 a lot.

The phone comes with MediaTek’s Helio X10 (MTK6795T) processor which is the same one found in the HTC One M9+ and features a true 8-core design with 8 A53 cores clocking at 2.2 GHz. Backing this is 3GB of RAM and a PowerVR 6200 GPU for great graphics and seamless multitasking. Sadly the only thing wrong with the Meizu MX5 is that the fact that it comes only in 3 non-expandable variants- 16, 32 and 64GB all with the fast eMMC 5.0 memory speeds.

The Meizu MX5 features a 5.5 inch Super AMOLED Full HD display which should offer great battery with bright, punchy and rather oversaturated colors. The display is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3.

On the battery side we have a large 3150 mAh battery which features mCharge technology which allows the battery to reach 25 percent in just 10 minutes! With this size and a low power display this phone should offer great battery life.

Meizu has used a 20.7MP Sony sensor with an f/2.2 aperture which maybe a little too large for nighttime shots. The phone can also shoot 100fps slow-mo footage at 720p aside from 4K video. The front camera is 5MP with an f/2.0 aperture for good low light performance.

Meizu also offers its new mTouch fingerprint scanner version 2.0 which comes with a stylish industrial design and with better speed and accuracy. The sensor is now more robust due to a special water-proof silicone coating and solid screw holding it in place.

The Meizu MX5 has dual active LTE slots, WiFi a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.1. We also have many sensors like – Hall Effect Sensor(for better audio), gravity sensor, IR proximity sensor, gyroscope, the ambient light sensor and a gyroscope.

Meizu plans to sell this phone in India with the product release being streamed here in India. If it comes with the right price tag this phone could possible kill the competition and take the throne.
