Asus Tranformer Book T100T

Asus is one company which has a good presence in the tablets as well as the laptop segment. Since a long time the company is aiming at a third segment which is relatively new – the hybrid books. We reviewed Asus Transformer Book T100T which is a Windows based hybrid device – can be used as a tablet or a notebook. Is it worth buying? Does a 2 in 1 device makes sense? Hopefully our review would answer these questions.

Asus Tranformer Book T100TDesign And Display

When you first look at the Asus Transformer Book T100T, it gives you a premium feel. It is complete plastic with the top of the detachable keyboard being metal. Saying that, the material used is of superior quality and it shows when work on the device.

The keyboard can be removed easily by pressing the centre button and can be attached with the same ease. It is a bit too small so it took us two days to get used to it. We were really impressed by the overall build quality and Asus has ensured the robustness of its transformer book.

The Asus Transformer Book T100T sports a 10.1 inch HD display which is really beautiful. The colour reproduction and the viewing angles are simply great. Watching high quality videos and playing games are a treat on the big 10.1 inch screen.

The Asus Transformer Book T100T comes with 2 GB of RAM and a 1.33 Ghz quad core Silvermont Intel Atom processor. This is basically a powerful quad core processor. We tested the device under various conditions. We opened multiple tabs on the Windows 8.1 RT operating system. We played moderately heavy games and ran FULL HD video clips. The device handled all with ease and there were no lags. The user available internal storage is 20.2 GB which can be expanded using a micro SD card.

3D Mark Ice Storm Extreme Score – 7167 : Solid Performance

There is a 1.2 MP front facing camera on the Asus Transformer Book T100T. Unlike the normal Windows Notebooks, the camera on this device manages to click sharp, clear images and we loved video chatting through it. It was more of the other person loved it because of the clarity! There is no secondary camera. You can check the video quality of the camera on our YouTube channel.

The Asus Transformer Book T100T packs a 2 cell battery under the hood. We ran our standard one hour tests on the device and below are the results.

One hour music playback – battery down by 8 percent
One hour video playback – battery down by 13 percent
One hour gaming – battery down by 14 percent
One hour web surfing and downloading – battery down by 11 percent

Thus, the Asus Transformer Book T100T is a decent performer when it comes to the battery life. The only drawback it took us around 6 hours to charge the battery to its full capacity. You can get more insights in our detailed battery performance report.

Asus Tranformer Book T100TMultimedia

The Asus Transformer Book T100T is a great device for watching videos and movies. It has a big and splendid display. The icing on the cake is the awesome speaker sound. The device manages to play music really load and clear and you would not be left looking for an external speaker!

Internet And Connectivity

We used the Chrome browser for our internet needs. With a good internet connection, the pages loaded up swiftly. Zooming in and out was without hassles and opening multiple tabs did not slow down the tablet.

You cannot insert a SIM card in the Asus Transformer Book T100T so you need to have a Wifi router. There is no NFC too.
